Welcome to HomeFresh News!
You still have a few days left if you'd like to
place an order for one of our delicious
hampers. Take the last minute rush out of gift
buying and get them something you know they'll use
and enjoy!
Order your groceries and fruit and vegetables
online for the Christmas and New Year break and
avoid the hassle of overcrowded shopping centres and
irate shoppers dashing for that elusive car parking
space! The countdown to Christmas is busy
enough, who needs the extra stress??
We will be taking internet orders until 4pm on
Monday 22nd December for delivery on Tuesday 23rd
December.
Our office will still be open on the 24th but
there will be no deliveries that day. This
gives us time to make sure that everything is set
before we take a break until Monday 5th January
2009.
Our retail outlet in Kenmore will continue to
trade through the Christmas and New Year period,
closing only for public holidays and Sundays.
Meat Availability
Our meat suppliers have advised us that there
will be no meat available for purchase after Friday
19th December until the New Year. So if you
want to order meat, get your orders in before 4pm on
Thursday 18th December.
Special Requests?
Need a whole tray of mangoes? Or perhaps
you need a box of blackberries?
If there is something special that you'd like to
order but aren't sure whether we can help, give us a
call on 3715 5381 and we'll see what we can do.
Our
stonefruit boxes are back!!
These popular
fruit hamper boxes make a
wonderful healthy treat or gift. Lets
face it with all the over-indulging that seems to go with Christmas, its great
to have fresh fruit on hand to refresh your palette and redeem your waistline!
There are many turkey disaster stories around. We've put together some
tips that will help you get it right on the day:
- depending on the size it can take up to 2 days
to defrost a turkey in the fridge if it was frozen
when you bought it - allow approximately 24 hours
per 2-3kg to thaw in the refrigerator
- avoid any turkey labelled as 'prebasted' - its
code for injecting it with all sorts of extras you
don't want or need
- a 4-5kg turkey will feed 8-10 people
- a 3kg buffe - breast fillets on the bone -
will feed 8-10 people
- as the breast meat always cooks fastest when
cooking a whole bird, slice this off when its done
and return the turkey to the oven to finish off
the rest.
