Product Description: Barambah Organics is a signatory to the Australian Olive Oil Associations’ Code of Practice. To have olive oil classed as Extra Virgin in Australia is quite a process. A sample of each year’s harvested oil has to be sent to the NSW DPI in Wagga Wagga for chemical and sensory testing. Not all oil passes this stringent testing. The chemical analysis is to determine Free Fatty Acid Content, Peroxide Value and UV Absorption and the sensory testing is to ensure that there are no defects. Only Extra Virgin Olive Oil can then enter the Australian International Olive Awards. At the 2017 Australian International Olive Awards, Barambah Farms Extra Virgin Olive Oil was awarded a Silver medal. A testament to the clean and green conditions that the oil was produced from.The tasting notes from the 2017 judges: Fresh celery and dried tomato with floral notes on the nose. Ripe olives on the palate with hint of green guava, pineapple, honey dew and lemon. Mild bitterness and pungency with a clear finish. The olive oil is bottled in a 250ml antique green glass bottle with an in-built pourer.
