Product Description: Rockmelons are a smaller melon with cream skin which has a netted apperance and a soft, peach coloured, smooth flesh, a distinctive sweet aroma and a sweet, smooth, musky flour.
Storage- Ripen the rockmelon at room temperature and store in the refrigerator. When cut, cover with cling film and place back in the refrigerator.
Nutrition- Rockmelon is a good source of vitamin C and potassium. Melons also provide small amounts of thiamine, riboflavin,nacin,iron, mgnesium and calcium. Melons are low in kilojoules making them ideal for the weight conscious. 105kj er 100g.
Uses- All melons are delious chilled and eaten fresh or balled/chopped and used in fruit salads or on kebabs. Honeydews are ideal as a dessert or used in combinations with pawns, ham, cheese etc on platters or as an entree. Melons make refreshing sorbets and ices. Remember that the melons themselves can be used as baskets and the flesh balled to make attractive, colourful salads. Use melon slices, wedges or balls to garnish an array of desserts.
