Bok Choy Chemical Free
Our Bok Choy is supplied by Squeaky Green, an eco friendly producer of salads, herbs and greens from South East Queensland.
Bok Choy does not form a true head, but when harvested at its base forms a compact cluster of leaves. Sometimes it is described as a loose leaf chinese cabbage. This dark green, leafy vegetable with white ribs in the leaves has fleshy stalks that vary from white to pale green.
Uses - Remove root and wash leaves and stalks, slice and braise, steam or stir-fry. This vegetable although very popular in Asian cooking, works just as well in western dishes. Bok Choy goes well with ginger, garlic, spring onions, chillies, butter, soy sauce, fish sauce, eggplants, oyster sauce, mushrooms, vinegar, rice wine, chicken, duck, roast pork, scallops.
You can use Bok Choy in dishes in place of cabbage or spinach. The stalks can also be used like asparagus.
